Bates Mission

Young adults aging out of foster care face one of the hardest transitions in life, and they're expected to navigate it alone. At Bates Mission, we believe no one should have to.

Founded in 2021 in Texas, we provide household essentials, life skills, and the kind of steady, practical support that helps young adults build lives they're proud of. Through our core programs Sheila's Supply Closet, Gifts and Celebrations, and Culinary Skills Training, we meet young adults where they are, offering practical resources and consistent community during one of the most vulnerable periods of their lives.

We work alongside housing partners across Texas to reach young adults in Supported Independent Living facilities, ensuring that the essentials most people take for granted — hygiene products, bedding, kitchen supplies, birthday celebrations —are available to those who need them most.

In five years, we've served more than 200 young adults across Texas. And we're just getting started. We're actively working to remove the barriers like access to college that stand between the young adults we serve and long-term stability.
