Our 2025 Give for Good Louisville campaign comes with a twist....we’re throwing a baby shower! 🍼🎉 The Ohio Valley Educational Foundation is turning this day of giving into a (virtual) baby shower for our OVEC Early Head Start babies and toddlers. Let’s come together to celebrate and support our North-Central Kentucky regions' youngest learners!

Funds raised through the 2025 Give for Good Louisville campaign will be used to support the Early Head Start program. This program is a lifeline for low-income families with infants and toddlers. It aims to give babies and toddlers the best start in life by providing safe care, nutritious meals, developmental screenings, and family support. At the same time, it helps parents grow in confidence, build stability, and move toward self-sufficiency. It’s about more than just nurturing the little ones, but strengthening families as a whole.

Early Head Start is a critically needed program in our community. We are serving more children and families than ever before, and the success is clear with new sites opened across Jefferson County, including a recently renovated and expanded center in the Newburg neighborhood and a brand-new site in the Burnett neighborhood. The demand for programs like this is strong, and families in our most vulnerable communities are eager to take advantage of the opportunities and services Early Head Start provides. That’s why we need your help to keep the momentum growing.

While Early Head Start relies heavily on government funding, recent budget cuts mean young learners need our community’s support now more than ever. Without it, the essentials that keep classrooms running and families supported are often in short supply.

Check out what's on our baby registry and consider giving a gift to be the support system our EHS babies and toddlers are desperately in need of!

• $25: Books & Learning Toys – spark curiosity and plant the seeds of learning.
• $50: Diapers and Wipes - because little ones go through them faster than we can count. 
• $75: Formula & Baby Food - nourishing babies so they can grow strong 
• $100: Family Support Services – helping parents feel supported through educational resources

 

On September 18th, join us in showering our Early Head Start babies with love, support, and opportunity. Together, we can make sure the very first years of life for our EHS learners are filled with possibilities. Because of you, families won’t have to worry about diapers, food, or learning materials. Instead, they can focus on what matters most, nurturing bright, happy, thriving children, and that's something we think is worth celebrating.
