The Floathouse Petaluma

The Floathouse Small Craft Rental Center is poised for the final push: Let's open in 2021! The Floathouse will be an exciting fixture on the downtown Petaluma waterfront--a bright, vibrant magnet for public access to the river. This "beacon of boating" will offer one of the widest variety of small craft rentals anywhere, along with programs and events for people of all ages--launching more river fun and adventure for everyone!

With over a decade of planning and permitting behind us, we're well on our way to to bringing everyone--locals and visitors alike--access to our "longest park," the Petaluma River. It's a lucky community that can claim a river in its backyard and from its tidal marshes to the historic urban waterfront, the river that gave our city life, is also one of our most important open spaces: a linear park at the very heart of our community. 

Momentum has been building for greater public access to the Petaluma River,  and with the help of our community of donors and volunteers, we've secured approvals and permits, driven pilings and installed long, low, boater-friendly docks in the downtown Turning Basin.
