In Guatemala more than 55% of the population live below the poverty line, may surviving on less than $7 a day.  58% of households are in a situation of marginal food security, which means that this population minimally covers their food requirements and fears that their food will run out before they are able to afford more.  4.3 million people live with food insecurity which means that they do not have access to sufficient or quality food. 

Nutrition directly affects not only physical growth but cognitive development that will determine a child´s future opportunities and potential income.  

Providing daily nutritious meals to more than 300 children all over the country will provide Treasures with opportunities to change their futures and that of their families.  Many children are at risk of death due to acute malnutrition, we need your help to provide children with meals that could save their lives!
