In the summer of 2013, our founder met Chrystal, a three-year-old girl being cared for by her homeless, and addicted grandparents.

In 2014, the Springs of Life Foundation was established with a vision to rejuvenate rural communities through Christ’s love. Our mission became: Rescuing Men, Restoring Families, and Rebuilding Communities. Our vision is to plant wells—life-giving resources—within distressed rural communities to create lasting change.

The foundation launched the Springs of Life Recovery Center (Well #1) to address poverty and addiction among marginalized fathers in East Tennessee. Absent fathers are a common factor in homelessness, addiction, teenage pregnancy, high school dropouts, and many other social challenges. The recovery program provides nine months of comprehensive, free services, including housing, food, clothing, hygiene items, dental care, healthcare, recovery classes, biblical studies, a supportive faith community, access to free Hepatitis C treatments, GED classes, case management, life skills training, job placement, and behavioral health services.

Well #2 is Solid Grounds Coffee Shop. As an organization, we aim to create transformative services that generate social impact. We believe that social enterprise can significantly complement our recovery programming and community services, advancing both the social mission and financial sustainability of the organization. Solid Grounds is an enormous blessing to the community as a whole. 

Above all, we aspire to provide hope for the future. Through our recovery services, community coffee shop, and transitional living quarters, we invest our lives to make a profound impact. At Springs of Life, we don’t just offer services; we establish spaces where hope blossoms, healing occurs, and lives are transformed through the power of the Gospel.
