About Us
TechBesties was founded in 2024 by three women, Darien Maples, Victoria Moser, and Lela Belayneh, with a mission to foster a thriving, supportive community in the tech industry. When Girls in Tech Global shut down that same year, Darien and Victoria, who had been deeply involved in the organization, recognized a need to continue empowering women and allies in tech. They brought along a strong team of women as advisory board members to help launch TechBesties. Seeing the need for additional strategic guidance, they enlisted Lela Belayneh, who leads value and strategy within the organization. 

Together, this powerhouse virtual team is building a space where tech meets friendship and more, providing mentorship, collaboration, and a sense of belonging to everyone aged 18 and up who joins. TechBesties' headquarters are in Dallas, TX, and Miami, FL.

Our History

Our Journey: From Fighting the Gender Gap to Building a New Era in Tech Together

TechBesties may be new, but our mission is rooted in a history of championing women and allies in the tech industry. Our journey began with a group of women who had spent over a decade navigating and excelling in the vast world of technology. Along the way, we witnessed—and experienced firsthand—the challenges of breaking barriers in a male-dominated industry. We recognized the pressing need to create an inclusive, supportive, and empowering space where women and allies could thrive.

When a beloved community focused on empowering women in tech faced closure, we knew we had to keep the mission alive. Out of this drive to bridge the gender gap and continue the legacy of support, TechBesties was born—a reimagined, revitalized community where tech meets friendship. Our goal is simple yet profound: to provide a safe and collaborative space for women and allies to grow, connect, and lead the charge in an ever-evolving tech landscape. Together, we are building a brighter, more inclusive future in tech—one connection at a time.

At TechBesties, we strive to create a diverse range of activities designed to foster education, mentorship, career advancement, and genuine connections for women and allies in tech. Our HQ teams are based in Dallas, TX, and Miami, FL, and we offer both virtual and in-person experiences to reach and empower our global community.

We partner with industry leaders like Treehouse to provide cutting-edge courses and training in areas such as AI, cybersecurity, coding, and more, giving our members the tools they need to excel in their tech careers.

Mentorship Opportunities

We connect women and allies with experienced mentors to guide their professional journeys, offering tailored advice and support that leads to impactful career growth.

Events & Workshops

Our live webinars, virtual events, and in-person workshops focus on trending tech topics to offer hands-on learning and skill development.

Community Building

TechBesties is a place where tech meets friendship. We host coffee meetups, highlight members making a difference in our community, and amplify voices through our podcast and member spotlights. Our vision includes creating a TechBesties Conference, bringing job opportunities, networking, and inspiration directly to our members.
