Late yesterday while out in the field in rural VA for our final Trap Neuter Return event of 2023, we were alerted to an incredibly dire situation.
4 puppies living in a chicken coop. Nothing keeping them warm when the temps were soon dipping into the 20s. No vaccines. No deworming. No prospect of them leaving this awful life in a cage with only cold, hard chicken wire on there little paws all day.
No fresh water. No toys. No sunshine.
We drove the 35 minutes away to get there. Our hearts sank when we saw where and how they were kept.
We can save them this week if we can get them funded - we must vaccinate them, deworm them and get them boarded safely until we can find a place for them.
Als so on site is a sweet boy dog, 2.5 years old who has literally not left this cold muddy outdoor pen for 2 years.
His only house is a cold broken dog crate. The kind neighbor (in the photo below) brought him an igloo house. He jumps and cries everytime he sees her. He is so desperate for a family, to have a walk, to have a bed, to get in from the cold.We had to leave him behind. The shelter is full. It was raining and in days the temps will be in the 20s.
Please help us save THESE CHICKEN COOP PUPPIES and this sweet dog from a life of pure misery.
