Every year, Deerfield High School’s student-led charity drive, School Chest, unites the Deerfield community in support of a unique philanthropic cause. We ask you to join us in support of this year’s School Chest beneficiary, the Propionic Acidemia Foundation, proudly selected by the students and faculty of DHS.
The Propionic Acidemia Foundation (PAF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to finding improved treatments and a cure for Propionic Acidemia by funding research and providing information and support to families affected with Propionic Acidemia. Propionic Acidemia is a genetic disorder causing brain damage and extreme difficulty for those affected by the disease to live a normal life. Jordan Franks would have been a junior this year at DHS if he had not passed away from Propionic Acidemia this past June. This year’s School Chest will honor his memory by supporting other individuals with Propionic Acidemia and striving to provide a cure for this devastating disease.
