With HT but not out of the woods...
This lucky boy beat the odds and made it out of the shelter alive. He is with Homeward Trails, but he's not out of the woods yet. We still need your help to treat his deadly (but treatable!) heartworm.
Leo is a handsome shepherd mix that is approximately 1-3 years old, and we are unsure of his backstory. Although he is a super sweet boy and great with kids and on a leash, he is currently at a high-risk rural Virginia shelter with limited options for transferring and surrender cases.
To make matters worse, Leonardo just tested positive for heartworm. Although heartworm is a TREATABLE disease, it is extremely expensive and often makes it even more difficult for sweet boys like Leonardo to find rescue placement or adoption. Please, help us raise the funds to get him healthy so we can give this easy-going boy the second chance he deserves.
