THANK YOU FOR INVESTING IN ME THROUGH EMPOWER 225!
Before Empower 225, I dropped out of high school after 10th grade. My family bounced between numerous house evictions, and my younger siblings went into DCFS custody.
Empower 225 found me in the library and saw potential in me that I couldn’t see at the time. Moving into the Anchor House has been one of the best experiences of my life. The staff prepared me for independence while meeting my immediate needs including clothing, food, life-skills and school. I’ve gained communication and social skills that will prepare me for success.
Because of Empower 225, I was able to graduate with my Hi-Set (high-school diploma equivalent) and obtain a job even before graduation. My goal is to become a residential and collision painter and to become involved in real estate in the future.
