The National Capital Bank of Washington was founded in 1889 and is Washington’s Oldest Bank. NCB is headquartered on Capitol Hill with offices in the Friendship Heights community in Northwest D.C., and the Courthouse neighborhood in Arlington, Virginia. NCB also operates residential mortgage and commercial lending offices and a wealth management services division.

Recognized for its philanthropic commitment to the communities in which it serves, NCB has supported the mission and vision of its neighborhood organizations and businesses for 129 years by providing not only banking services, but also donating resources, time and talent to the community.  Key to this effort was the decision to establish a charitable foundation. The National Capital Bank of Washington Foundation is a donor-advised fund that supports three main areas of interest –youth, education and social services.  Since its inception, the fund has made over 500 donations totaling $1.7 million to local organizations, such as Chance for Life. And to enhance the fund’s impact, NCB employees also volunteer with these organizations, with more than 1200 hours donated each year.
