Tinner Hill is proposing a mural project along Lee Hwy, so drivers will see the city's history

Tinner Hill Heritage Foundation is the busiest African American and civil rights  history organization in Northern Virginia.  We resurrected and promote a story long suppressed and largely forgotten until we built the Tinner Hill Monument, began a music festival, received one of two state historic markers in the City of Falls Church and built a historic site. Now we are proposing a mural project along Lee Highway near the Tinner Hill site.

These murals will help to promote diversity and allow the 23,000 drivers who use Lee Highway daily to see and appreciate art and history, without leaving the comfort of their automobiles.

Hopefully this will encourage them to return and take a tour of “Historic” Falls Church, shop, purchase a meal or otherwise spend their money in the City. Tourism is a multi-billion dollar industry in Virginia. It is long overdue for Falls Church to become a destination and not just a town that cars pass thru on the way to Washington.

Please make a donation to Tinner Hill Heritage Foundation this #Givingtuesday, or by December 31, 2019  and help make our vision a reality.

Thank you!
