We're psyched to be turning our digital fundraising campaign into an on-site, music-making, community-building, roof raising JAM. Think walk-a-thon with amps and instruments and voices! The goal is to KEEP THE MUSIC GOING to fundraise for IMA! We’ll be playing music non-stop for 24 hours beginning at 7pm November 17th and going to 7pm on the 18th in IMA’s Big Barn.

I was first introduced to the IMA community in 2020, when I attended a virtual summer camp session. As a beginner guitarist, I was nervous and self conscious about composing and performing. Even though we were on zoom, I was immediately struck by the enthusiasm of my instructors and under their guidance, my peers and I wrote the most beautiful and heartfelt music. This inspired me to start writing my own songs and motivated me to better my playing. In 2022, I attended in-person camp for the first time, which was another wonderful experience. I learned about rhythm and vocal dynamics from IMA's incredible staff. I also got to collaborate and perform with some of the most fun and talented young musicians I've ever met. Though I now live far away, Ann and June have helped me stay active in the community for which I am immensely grateful.

IMA offers us students an encouraging environment in which we can try new things and express ourselves through music. Thank you Ann and June for providing that space and for all of your support!
