I am a life-long learner, nature-lover, and environmental educator. I have been fortunate to have traveled across the globe to learn about our planet and environmental education -from hands-on learning to the benefits of time outdoors. However, growing up in Michigan, going to Blandford, studying in New Zealand, and working in California & New Hampshire have revealed to me how diverse our world is and, also, how very similar it is. We all have a local park that is special to us, a body of water we love to swim in, and the best trail for hiking or biking.
As many of you know, I moved to North Carolina to pursue a graduate degree focusing on environmental education - specifically research and evaluation - so I can help improve practices, grow our impact, & increase legitimacy. While down here, I have had the privilege to serve as the Education Chair for Environmental Educators of North Carolina where I headed our annual Research Symposium and helped give out $3,000 in scholarships to attend our annual conference.
The outdoors fill me with a child-like joy, wonder, & reverence. I am so honored to be apart of a community that seeks to not only connect everyone with the outdoors but also to educate people about the nature outside their front door & beyond. I hope you will consider supporting me and an organization that shares this desire. Your contribution will mean so much to so many. Specifically, these funds can help:
1.) Hire our first-ever executive director to increase the impact of our all-volunteer board
2.) Hold mini-conferences and trainings to connect educators across the state
3.) Strengthen our partnerships with both individual teachers & schools to international organizations
Thank you so much!!
