Can We Save Ozzie Before It Is Too Late?

At just 5 months old, little Ozzie should be discovering the world from the safety of a loving home, not shivering alone behind the cold walls of a rural shelter. This tiny Terrier/Chihuahua mix was found wandering as a stray in southern Virginia, already learning far too young what it feels like to be hungry, frightened, and forgotten. Instead of falling asleep in someone’s lap, Ozzie curls up alone each night, hoping the next set of footsteps will finally stop at his kennel. But in a shelter with very low adoption rates, puppies like Ozzie can easily be overlooked as new dogs continue to arrive. Homeward Trails wants to give this sweet little boy the second chance every puppy deserves, but we can’t do it without your help.
