Purple is only 2 years old, but it’s hard not to wonder how much heartbreak she’s already endured. Seized from a breeding situation in rural southwest Virginia, this beautiful Husky mix likely spent her life valued for what she could produce instead of who she is. While other dogs were learning what it felt like to be loved, sleeping on soft beds, and playing with families, Purple was simply surviving. Now she sits in an overcrowded shelter, waiting once again for someone to decide if her life is worth saving.
