Help Celebrate History

In April 2026, USAFA Women, a nonprofit organization, will host a once-in-a-lifetime celebration in Colorado Springs to mark 50 years since women first entered the U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA). In 1975, President Gerald Ford signed the legislation opening all Service Academies to women, and on June 28, 1976, the first women marched up the Academy’s famous ramp to begin their journey as cadets.

That moment transformed both Academy and Colorado history, setting a precedent for generations of leaders who would go on to serve our nation. To make this commemoration truly special, we are raising funds to bring back some of those pioneering women so they can share their stories firsthand with cadets, graduates, and the community. Your support will ensure their voices are heard and their legacy continues to inspire the next 50 years.

About Us: USAFA Women is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit powered by volunteers and donations. Our mission is to honor and support the legacy of Academy women through programs, storytelling, and events. Learn more at www.usafa-women.org.
