#GivingTuesday Prize Rules

Mightycause is giving away prizes to lift up the community of nonprofit organizations we partner with. Please use your best judgment and work within the spirit of giving back as you compete for prize grants. Cheating of any kind will not be permitted, and will result in loss of prize and potential loss in the ability to participate in future campaigns. 

Leaderboards: An organization is only eligible to win one leaderboard prize. Leaderboards will count online donations only (offline donations and matching grants contributed outside of the platform will not be included) made from the time Early Giving begins, 11/19/2024 at 12:00 AM EST through the conclusion of the event on 12/4/2023 at 02:59 AM EST. Leaderboards will rank based on most dollars raised. If a nonprofit earns one of the top 3 spots on more than 1 leaderboard, their higher placement will be honored and they will be removed from the other leaderboard rankings. 

Early Giving: Nonprofits are encouraged to start fundraising ahead of the campaign thanks to Early Giving. Any online donation made to a participating nonprofit organization after Early Giving begins (12:00 am EST on 11/19/2024) through the start of the event (12:00 am EST on 12/03/2024) will be included in Early Giving totals. 

Eligible donations: Only online donations made through givingtuesday.mightycause.com are eligible for hourly prizes and leaderboards. Offline donations entered via the platform and matching grants not fulfilled through the platform will not be eligible for prizes. 

Prize verification and disbursement: Despite being posted on the site, prize winners are not 100% final until the Mightycause team has the chance to verify donations post-event. After prize verification is complete, any #GivingTuesday prizes will be disbursed to nonprofit organizations following their normal disbursement process before 12/31/2024. 

Prize Segment Eligibility:

Mightycause Subscriber: To be eligible for this category, your nonprofit must be signed up for a Mightycause subscription plan by the time registration closes on 11/21/2024 and you must still be an active subscriber at the time prize grants are disbursed in December 2024. 

New Organizations: To be considered a new organization for #GivingTuesday prizes, your organization must not have completed the registration process to participate on #GivingTuesday on Mightycause in 2023. (Organizations that participated prior to 2023 but not in 2023 will be considered "new" for prize purposes). 

Returning Organizations: To be considered a returning organization for #GivingTuesday prizes, your organization must have completed the registration process to participate on #GivingTuesday on Mightycause in 2023.

Small Organizations: We will determine an organization as being a part of the "Small" organization prize segment for #GivingTuesday prizes if you selected that your annual operating budget was $250,000 or less in your registration form.

Large Organizations: We will determine an organization as being a part of the "Large" organization prize segment for #GivingTuesday prizes if you selected that your annual operating budget was greater than $250,000 in your registration form. 

Mightycause can modify any restrictions or conditions if, in the sole judgment of the Board of Directors, such restriction or condition becomes unnecessary, incapable of fulfillment or inconsistent with the charitable needs of the community. As such, Mightycause reserves the right to deny or condition the distribution of prize grants if, in the judgment of its Board of Directors, such restriction or condition becomes necessary.
