Keshet's work in South Florida includes:

Education & Training. Keshet sparks change at South Florida Jewish institutions by bolstering synagogues, day schools, JCCs, federations, summer camps, and more to live their values as communities of equality and belonging. Through individualized consultations, trainings, yearlong cohort programs, and special projects, our Florida Education & Training team meets local organizations where they are and supports them in making real change across the community.

Youth Programs. Keshet empowers LGBTQ+ Jewish young people (11-24) and creates spaces where they can thrive. Locally, Keshet runs the South Florida Queer Jewish Youth Alliance, a partnership with 15 local Jewish organizations that offers Jewish LGBTQ+ teens a monthly gathering to make friends, process current events, and celebrate their LGBTQ+ and Jewish identities in a safe and supportive space.

Community Mobilization for Equality. As more and more dangerous anti-LGBTQ+ legislation and policies are introduced locally, Keshet continues to galvanize Florida Jewish communities to advocate for LGBTQ+ rights at the state level. Each year we join our advocacy partners at Equality Florida to represent the Jewish voice for LGBTQ+ equality during Florida’s legislative session. By the end of the 2026 Florida legislative session, we had defeated all but one of the anti-LGBTQ+ bills.

LGBTQ+ Jews of Color. Keshet’s programs by and for LGBTQ+ Jews of Color (QJOC) create spaces for hundreds of QJOCs across the country, including through a monthly online affinity group and our annual in-person Keshet Neshamot/Rainbow Souls Shabbaton for LGBTQ+ Jews of Color (co-sponsored with The Jews of Color Mishpacha Project), drawing participants from here in South Florida, and from across the U.S.
