As we bring 2026 to a close, we are excited to announce our theme for Giving Tuesday - The Year of the Horse
Giving Tuesday is a world wide annual day of giving. This year it falls on December 1, 2026, with early giving starting November 17th. Charities world wide will be seeking support. Will you help us continue our research to help prevent laminitis for all horses in honor of the Year of the Horse? Yes, we said prevent!
We think it's an achievable goal, and we are making great progress identifying the symptoms and causes. It is a sneaky condition that any horse, donkey or mule owner can find themselves dealing with, often without warning. Our mission is to help bridge research and real-life clinical experience, to immediately and significantly benefit the welfare of the horse in the areas of prevention and rehabilitation.
This year the ECIR Group has initiated several self-funded studies related to PPID and EMS. We have been working hard toward this goal all year, and now have added two more papers to our peer-reviewed library. We are happy to report that two of our five titles are #2 and #3 of the most downloaded papers in Open Veterinary Journal. There is much more on our wish list and we need your support to fund these.
Your contribution will go a long way to helping us help you in the event you find yourself seeking our guidance. Our knowledge base and personal assistance navigating these conditions, as well as guidance on hoof care and general horse keeping, is free to all members. Membership is also free. So why not trot along?
