The Busy Beaver Challenge, our biggest PTA fundraiser of the year, is happening on Friday, March 27, 2026. It's a minimum day, with early release at 12:30PM. Students will work in teams to do physical and mental challenges, earning points and a chance to win prizes.
The PTA is looking for volunteers to help out on the day of the event. Volunteers will help set up events, supervise challenges, and help clean up at the end of the day. It's going to be a really fun day, we'd love for you to be a part of it.
Volunteers should have Level 1 approval from AUSD, and sign in at the office on the day of the event.
The Busy Beaver Challenge: Building Great Minds is a high-energy, community-building fundraiser that celebrates teamwork, perseverance, and the power of students working together for a common goal.
In the weeks leading up to the event, students gather pledges and donations from family, friends, and neighbors. By raising money in advance, participants directly support important school programs while building excitement for the big day. Students can set individual fundraising goals, work together toward team targets, and watch their collective impact grow—truly building great minds through shared purpose and community support.
On the day of the Busy Beaver Challenge, the real fun begins. Students compete in teams, rotating through a dynamic series of physical and mental challenges designed to stretch both body and brain. From races and feats of strength to trivia, logic puzzles, and creative problem-solving tasks, each activity encourages collaboration, resilience, and strategic thinking.
With each challenge completed, teams earn a chance to win prizes, including gift cards to local Alameda businesses and a party for the team who raises the most money per student. At the end of the day, every participant walks away having contributed to something meaningful.
The Busy Beaver Challenge isn’t just a fundraiser. It’s a day dedicated to building great minds—through challenge, connection, and the shared pride of accomplishing something together.
