$15,000 Goal

Today's the day to GIVE and HEAL!

Update posted 2 years ago

Hello all, today is the day to GIVE and HEAL!

Thanks to the generosity and support of our donors, we've raised close to $2,000 out of our goal of $15,000. Will you help us get to our final goal?

As a treat, here's our short film made in collaboration with Emmy-Award winning filmmaker Bryan Tucker! This video features interviews from our facilitators and community members about their experience with restorative justice as both survivors and folks who've caused harm.

Enjoy and remember to GIVE and HEAL!

This November 28, Collective Justice aims to keep GIVING and HEALing!

❓What is #GivingTuesday? GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of radical generosity. GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good.

💭 Collective Justice is restorative justice collective brought together by survivors and imprisoned community members in Washington State. Through the collective wisdom and power of our members, we work toward cultural and systemic transformation that centers the dignity and resilience of all people impacted by mass imprisonment and violence.  We remain committed to serving and working alongside those most directly impacted on both sides of harm through our diverse and creative programing. Whether it's a circling up, facilitating dialogue, or organizing for freedom, your contribution makes dreaming up a future free of violence that much more real.

💸The Goal: $15,000

This Giving Tuesday, we aim to raise $15,000 to continue to support our ecosystem of healing! Where will your $15,000 go?

  1. Empowerment Through Education: Our Community Education Team aims to skill up the community, locally and nationally, on the fundamentals of restorative justice and how we do this work. If we met our goal, we would be able to provide (8) trainings to both local grassroots movements as well as national stakeholders covering topics such as Restorative Justice/Transformative Justice 101, Accountability, Survivorship, and Criminalized Survivorship. This includes wages for our facilitators, individualized HEAL curriculum for each partner, travel/lodging/food, and follow-up supports.
  2. Healing Thru Circle Practice: Our HEAL (Healing Education for Accountability and Liberation) Offering fosters community healing by holding circle and witnessing each other’s stories as we move together through individually-held pain to a journey of collective healing. If we met our goal, we would be able to provide a 3 day circle process on the impacts of gender socialization as well as partially fund a 14 day circle process on our HEAL Curriculum. This includes also wages for our facilitators, individualized HEAL curriculum for each partner, travel/lodging/food/childcare, and follow-up supports.
  3. Organizing For Freedom: Our Organizing Offering supports community members who are left feeling powerless without a channel to support through a variety of tactics such as legislation, public policy, and court support. If we met our goal, we would continue our 2022 goal of reducing 100+ years of time served for folks on all sides of harm. This includes rapid response support for folks directly impacted, transportation to get folks to and from the courthouse, public speaking training, and more.

🫂Thank You: Thank you so much for taking the time to continue to show up for our community. Your contribution embodies the same values we aim to align ourselves with on the daily when we do this work.
