Bella Vista Animal Shelter Inc

The Bella Animal Shelter was founded in 1985 with a simple objective to help a momma dog place her pups into loving homes. Today, Bella Vista Animal Shelter (BVAS) services 600 animals each year. Our goal of reuniting strays and rehoming abandoned animals remains a top priority. Beginning 2020, the shelter landscape changed. With increased costs for food, gas and other staples, animals are being abandoned and neglected at an alarming rate. Our intake numbers since March 2022 are averaging 50 animals per month, where during the previous year we had 8 months under 40 animals per month. Our return rate on stray dogs was near 60 percent. The number of calls we receive asking for space for owner surrenders is over 10 per day. Our shelter and partners in rescue cannot service all these requests. 

Our Mission: To rescue and rehabilitate the homeless animals if the city of Bella Vista, AR. We provide food, shelter and medical care for animals in need until they can be adopted or returned to loving homes. 

Jenny and Dave Marrs, from “Fixer to Fabulous” remodel of our front office and kennels for their 2021 holiday special renovation. This notoriety has brought us visitors and fans from everywhere, we have heard from supporters as far away as Australia and the Philippines. We have also received donations from around the United States with the note “saw you on TV.” We could not be more thankful for the opportunity "Fixer to Fabulous" provided to this little non-profit, and are proud that we have become a "tourist attraction" for reality TV fans everywhere.
