For nearly 30 years, the BlackFacts Educational Foundation (BFEF) has stood at the intersection of technology, culture, and justice. We are not just another nonprofit—we are a movement of unapologetically Black technologists, historians, and community builders who believe that our stories, our voices, and our brilliance must shape the future of technology.
From launching BlackFacts.com in 1997—the Internet’s first Black History search engine—to building today’s AI-powered education and civic platforms, our work has always been about more than preserving history. It is about transforming how the world sees us, and how we see ourselves.
We build technologies that uplift, inspire, and empower historically silenced communities. Every platform, from digital archives to AI-driven classrooms, is an act of resistance, remembrance, and reimagination. We do not build for profit—we build for power: the power of owning our stories and controlling our future.
We envision a world where every child of the African Diaspora can access their heritage as easily as streaming a movie, where elders’ wisdom is preserved in living digital libraries, and where communities across oceans are reconnected through platforms designed for us, by us, and owned by us.
Unapologetically Black – We lead with our stories first.
Universally Welcoming – Empowering all historically silenced voices.
Technologically Inclusive – Making technology a tool of liberation, not exclusion.
Transformative by Design – Building visionary, disruptive solutions that rewrite narratives at scale.
Your gift fuels a bold ecosystem of projects that combine cutting-edge technology with cultural empowerment:
BlackFacts.com – Free since 1997, the largest online hub of Black history and culture.
Diversity Schoolhouse – An edtech platform in schools across 14 states, helping teachers deliver ethnic studies with engaging videos, lesson plans, and AI-powered tools.
Griot 21 – Empowering youth to preserve the voices of elders through digital oral history.
Dream It Forward – Connecting Black youth with real-world STEM role models and Vision Casters.
BlackFacts for Families – Bringing Black history and culture directly into homes, accessible on demand.
Civic Chat & Voting While Black – Open-source platforms to make civic engagement and voting accessible, transparent, and powerful.
Each donation strengthens our capacity to scale these innovations—ensuring the brilliance of our communities is preserved, celebrated, and used to build futures worthy of our ancestors’ dreams.
Stand with us to ensure our history is never erased, our voices never silenced, and our future never dictated by others. Together, we can build technologies that amplify, dignify, and unite.
