At Bolton Hill Nursery, we believe children learn through play.  We provide a warm, encouraging atmosphere that enhances self-help skills and instills basic moral values.  Our program promotes social interaction and enriches awareness of the natural and cultural worlds.  We offer a wide range of activities, inviting curiosity and embracing each child’s unique personality and individual interests.

Through integrating art, music, creative movement, sensory materials, dramatic play, cooking, science, stories, field trips outdoor play and more, the children at Bolton Hill Nursery explore the environment and become knowledgeable in their interactions with the world.

At BHN, we believe that play is the work of children.  Play-based learning allows them the time and space to “work” under adult supervision providing them with the skills necessary to make their needs known and get their needs met in an appropriate way, either on their own or working with others. Play helps strengthen bonds, teaches empathy and promotes not only social, but also emotional and cognitive development.

We want the child to feel involved in the learning process; therefore, weekly themes are not just determined by the staff, but by the interests of the children in the classroom. Everyone is part of the teaching process.
