In the summer of 1966, Jim Hall, then the Director of Music at Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, placed an ad in a local Charlotte newspaper, calling on amateur musicians to unite and form a community concert band. The purpose was to provide a relaxed and enjoyable outlet for former high school and college band members to continue making music.

Since that humble beginning, the Charlotte Concert Band has flourished over 57 years, becoming a cherished gem within Charlotte's performing arts community. It offers amateur musicians the opportunity to partake in exceptional concert band performances and foster enduring friendships.

This Giving Tuesday, we kindly request your support to fortify our organization's resilience and facilitate its growth during these challenging times. Our fundraising target for the 2023 Giving Tuesday campaign is $6,000.

Your contribution empowers us to continue delivering high-quality music to the Charlotte community, preserving a tradition spanning over half a century, and ensuring that music remains an integral part of our musicians' lives.

We warmly invite you to contribute to our cause, knowing that every amount, no matter how small, makes a meaningful impact. We extend our sincere gratitude in advance for your support and eagerly anticipate your presence at one of our upcoming performances. Thank you for your patronage and unwavering support.
