Overview:
At the Christian Caring Center, we are driven by a deep commitment to serving our community with compassion and dignity. Our programs and services are designed to address the immediate needs of individuals and families experiencing homelessness, food insecurity, and other crises, while also providing long-term solutions to help them achieve stability and self-sufficiency.
Programs and Services:
Tier One: Outreach
- Homeless Outreach: Delivering meals to homeless individuals living in Pemberton Township and local motels twice a week.
- Community Lunch: Serving hot lunches at the Caring Center five days a week, with additional Sunday lunches provided by Friendship AME Church to area motels.
Tier Two: Crisis Intervention
- Short-Term Housing: Offering emergency shelter for short stays, typically over weekends, and occasionally up to one week.
- Men's Shelter: Operating two houses accommodating five men each, with a focus on rapid rehousing within a 90-day timeframe.
- Family Shelters: Partnering with Won by One Community Partnership, Inc. to provide 90 days of shelter and case management for families, facilitating rapid rehousing.
- Code Blue Shelter: Seasonal shelter for homeless individuals during extreme weather conditions, in collaboration with Tabernacle of Praise Church, Browns Mills, NJ.
Tier Three: Wraparound Services
- Food Pantry: Distributing food twice a month, six days a week, to individuals and families in need.
- Salvation Army Service Unit: Assisting with non-food-related emergency needs in partnership with the Salvation Army.
- Case Management/Referral Services: Providing assessment, referrals, and case management in collaboration with churches, nonprofits, and government agencies.
- Job Training: Offering job training opportunities in various areas within the Caring Center, including the pantry, kitchen, outreach offices, and facility maintenance.
- Holy-Days Basket Program: Providing seasonal baskets with food and specific gifts for Easter, back-to-school, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
Tier Four: Permanent Housing
- Transition to Permanent Housing: Assisting homeless or insecure families in transitioning to safe, permanent housing through various resources and partnerships.
- Bridge of Hope Program: A unique program providing support, case management, and spiritual guidance to at-risk families transitioning into permanent housing, with the support of government, corporate, and religious partners.
