At City Cafe Outreach Program, Inc., we believe that no family should have to choose between paying bills and putting food on the table. Based in Amarillo, Texas, our nonprofit is committed to addressing both the immediate need of hunger relief and the long-term challenge of financial instability.

The Challenge

In the Texas Panhandle, thousands of families face food insecurity every year. Children often rely on free or reduced-price school meals during the week, but weekends and holidays create gaps that leave cupboards empty and kids hungry. Seniors and working families struggle to stretch limited resources. Without intervention, these challenges lead to poor health, stress, and cycles of poverty that are difficult to break.

Our Solution: A Phased Approach

City Cafe Outreach Program is designed to meet families where they are today and build pathways for tomorrow. Our programs include:

• Ready-to-Eat Meals – Nutritious, freshly prepared meals for families, seniors, and individuals who may not have the means to cook.

• Kids’ Fuel Packs – Weekend food packs that ensure children have reliable, healthy meals when school cafeterias are closed.

• Financial Literacy Workshops – Monthly sessions on budgeting, debt management, and saving, combined with AI-powered digital tools for ongoing support.

• Cooking & Nutrition Education – Classes that teach families how to prepare affordable, nutritious meals at home.

• Food Education Center & Community Garden – A future hub for cooking classes, nutrition workshops, and sustainable food production.

• Regional Expansion – By 2028, we aim to replicate our model in neighboring communities across the Texas Panhandle.

Our Impact

Though we are a young nonprofit, our vision is bold. In our first three years, we project:

• 20,000+ meals served annually

• 3,000+ Kids’ Fuel Packs distributed per year

• 12+ financial literacy workshops delivered annually

• 200+ volunteers engaged in service
