Clinic Vest Project

A nonprofit organization

634 Donors

Greetings, loyal supporters! Hard to believe but it’s Giving Tuesday time again.

2021 proved to be another challenging year for The Clinic Vest Project, not just because of COVID19, but also do to the unrelenting anti-choice legislation that continues to whittle away at abortion rights in America. While we wait for the Supreme Court’s decision on the fate of the heinous Texas abortion ban, there is another day of oral arguments set before the Supreme Court on December 1, 2021, in the case of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Org. The cases before SCOTUS have emboldened the anti-choice protestors at abortion clinics all over the country and that means more vest orders for CVP.

While our fundraising abilities were sidetracked a bit in 2020, some of our local events were back on schedule in Chicago this year. CVP was thrilled to be back out at a few festivals and events raising money for our mighty nonprofit. We are so grateful for these money-raising opportunities as we have sent out vests to clinics by the hundreds almost every month this year. It seemed as soon as a shipment of vests was received, they were unpacked long enough to divide them up to ship them out to our clients. Though our finances were tighter, we managed to fulfill all of our vest requests this year, which was only possible because of folks like you, our devoted sponsors whose generous donations filled in the gaps and kept our bank account from going under.

So, once again, we call out to you to hear our Giving Tuesday fundraising plea. CVP understands the challenges that this year brings for many people, both emotionally and financially due to the pandemic, however, please know that each and every donation is appreciated, no matter the amount. A donation of $10.00 by every donor would let us end our year on a positive note and let us continue to keep clinic escort volunteers safe while they protect patients on the sidewalk. As most of you already know, the CVP Board serves without compensation and all the work of our nonprofit (ordering, receiving, packaging and shipping) is done by us without cost to any clinic or group.

Thank you for your consideration again this year. Please know how much you are appreciated as our contributors are our lifeline as a nonprofit!

With much love and thankfulness, because without you, our work is not possible.

Betsy Schaack, VP of The Clinic Vest Project, on behalf of our wonderful Board, Benita, Katie, Andrea, Jay, Lindsay, Elaina and Adrienne
