Who is Concerned Citizens?
Our agency was established in 1979 and has been responsible for providing outstanding social services ever since. Although we specialize in people with disabilities from birth to seniors we also have programs for teens, children, seniors and cover a very broad range of human services. Our regular customers particularly value our open door policy and willingness to work around difficult issues putting people’s needs above other considerations.
Goal Statement: To accomplish our mission through support, advocacy, and facilitation. Targeting special needs populations including birth to seniors and their families and supporting the general welfare and quality of life of every human being by recognizing individual differences and gifts.
Our Vision: is one of a barrier free environment for our targeted population; one of an integrated environment that encourages children, teens, and adults to reach their full potential by expanding life experiences and enhancing general health and personal growth.
Concerned Citizens is a 501(c) 3 non-profit agency. We provide social services to all folks, ages birth to senior citizens through a variety of programs. Our main office is in Forks, Washington with two other offices, one located in Port Angeles and one in Port Hadlock. The agency serves both Clallam and Jefferson counties and is very diverse in its service delivery in both counties. Concerned Citizens operates fourteen different programs with funding from grants, State and Federal dollars, private pay clients, and donations.
The main office and campus is located on 3.5 acres in the middle of Forks Washington and was purchased in 1994. The buildings have all been remodeled since and two new buildings have been added. The complex houses the only Child Development Center, Teen Center, and Adult Family Home that the agency operates. The Port Angeles office has the only Representative Payee program.
Programs such as Family Time supervised visitation, Personal Care, Respite, Vocational Rehabilitation, Individual Supported Employment, and Community Inclusion are present in all locations; Forks, Port Angeles, and Port Hadlock and cover the whole peninsula.
