Diamond Educational Excellence Partnership (DEEP)

Our Mission

At DEEP, we are committed to having every child in southeast San Diego reading proficiently by the end of third grade. However, only 26% of our 3rd graders can read so WE NEED YOUR HELP.  

Our vision is that children attending public schools in San Diego’s Diamond Community enter kindergarten prepared for success and read proficiently by the end of third grade. One way we achieve this is by engaging children and families with reading at an early age.   

DEEP invests $2,635 into one child throughout their early learning experience and we encourage you to invest in one stage of a child’s learning journey during this #GivingTuesday.  

#GivingTuesday donations will go directly to the children who need it the most in San Diego’s Diamond Community.

OUR IMPACT

DEEP currently serves 4 partner schools, attended by over 1,200 students in grades PK-3. With each passing year, DEEP intensifies its focus on a subset of schools. Our goal is to provide comprehensive support that simultaneously addresses the multiple roots of the challenges facing students and families in the Diamond Community of southeastern San Diego.
