EDsnaps’ vision is to increase diversity in the STEM workforce. We offer EDucation Strategies for Non-traditional Academic and Professional Success and focus on empowering young women—particularly those from underserved and underrepresented communities—through STEM and leadership development. Independent from students’ level of education, socio-economic situation, geo-location, we build global pipelines of lifelong STEM learners, enable them to transform into STEM leaders.

Our free student-focused in-house designed programs combine STEM with Art and Art with STEM concepts. We include different learning styles, such as visual, auditory, reading/write, and kinesthetic to ensure that all students gain personal and professional value and are set up for success. With the voluntary help of professionals in all industry areas, we work on socio-economic, global, visual, digital, informational, and emotional literacy development.

Students who complete an EDsnaps’ program often return as counselors or interns. Counselor positions and internships are paid positions, excellent learning opportunities, and valuable experiences, and are an integral part of our students’ journey to become future STEM-leaders

Mentorship and role models are woven throughout all EDsnaps’s programs. Students-led projects, our alumnae fellowships, local field trips (NYC area) and global career fieldtrips, form a unique network in which our students gain confidence, direction and career-awareness and career-readiness.

The e-Magazine Program was a program ‘born” during COVID as both mentors and mentees wanted to share their stories. EDsnaps’ founder Dr. Cappendijk decided that the best way to support both sides was to start an e-magazine in the fall of 2020. After 5 years, this project has grown out to a huge success. EDsnaps e-published 11 magazines so far.
