The FRC of the Redwoods provides services that support and nurture families in Del Norte County.
We provide a welcoming, safe and nurturing environment
to strengthen and support healthy relationships
for children and families in Del Norte County.
A part of this work, through the Community Food Council for Del Norte and Tribal Lands (DNATL), is ensuring that our community has access to healthy, wholesome foods.
The DNATL Community Food Council mission is to build a vibrant local food system that provides affordable, healthy food to all families in Del Norte and Tribal Lands.
DNATL CFC goals are to:
Increasing food security & access to fresh vegetables and fruit
Increase our local food economy
Shift eating habits through education & access to nutritious and culturally appropriate foods.
Our organization operates Pacific Pantry, a choice-based food pantry located at the Family Resource Center of the Redwoods. Please check out our fundraising campaign for the Pacific Pantry. This holiday season we are asking our community to gift a family a meal and help stock the pantry with nutritious foods throughout the holiday and beyond.
We partnered with the Tolowa Dee-ni’ Nation to develop four food forest sites across DNATL and help to manage the Crescent City and Klamath Food Forest sites.
Since our founding in 2010, we have:
