Family Promise of NewRock

Family Promise of New Rock (FPNR) brings community resources together to help local families regain their housing, independence, and dignity. This collaborative partnership of congregations of all faiths, and civic and social services organizations offers an opportunity for nearly all volunteer-manned, 501(c)3 non-profit community organizations to reduce homelessness and transform lives in a very cost-effective manner.

Family Promise of NewRock was established in 2010 in response to the rising number of homeless families in Rockdale County and Newton Counties. The Family Promise model is proven successful, with over 30 years of offering a leg-up vs. a hand-out, helping homeless families to regain their sustainable independence, at a third of the cost of traditional shelters. Your help is needed during these trying times, between the two counties there’s only one other option available for the Homeless population. Rockdale county alone has over 700 homeless children in the school system and Newton county with over 250.

We have a prevention program in which when funding is available, we assist local residents with financial assistance to pay past due rent, utilities and/or provide rental deposits. This program enables participants to stay in their homes to avoid evictions or have the much needed funding to move into permanent housing. We need to raise $20,000, so that Help Us Move In, Inc. will match our $20,000 raised and give us an additional $20,000 which will all be used for our prevention program.

We need your support to help the most vulnerable population which are…the children. The children are the future and deserve to be protected. Any donation will gladly be appreciated. We need funding for general operations, prevention money to assist our community members with staying in permanent housing and to assist our guests with move in costs, food, disinfectants, toiletries and other necessities.
