Madison Emergency Services Association (MESA)

The Madison Emergency Services Association, Inc. (MESA) is an IRS designated 501(c)(3) charitable organization whose mission is to be a resource for our Madison County neighbors in need. Established in 1982, MESA has served the community for over 40 years by providing reliable safety-net services to countless numbers of Madison County neighbors and friends.

MESA has significantly expanded from modest origins to establish itself as a fundamental pillar of assistance for residents of Madison in need. This development has been driven by the exceptional support received from our donors, churches, businesses, educational institutions, grantors, civic organizations, as well as the invaluable contributions of time from numerous volunteers and committed staff.

Through your generous donations, MESA provides essential daily items to residents of Madison in need. Our distinguished organization operates a Food Pantry that is accessible on multiple days throughout the week, including Saturday. In 2025, MESA assisted 16,048 individuals from 6,491 households by offering food support via our pantry. The pantry supplies a variety of goods, including meats, cheeses, vegetables, fresh fruits, pre-made deli sandwiches, canned items, personal hygiene products, and pet foods.

Client Services provide a range of assistance, including support with payments for electricity, gas, and oil bills; provision of firewood or wood for heating or stoves; aid with automobile repairs and related payments or insurance; gasoline for essential transportation; rent or mortgage payments; medical prescriptions and healthcare; as well as diapers.
