Introduction

Mandate Project Impact, Inc. (MPI) is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit Corporation created in collaboration with M.A.N.D.A.T.E. Records, Inc. Our mission is to empower, mentor, and develop underserved youth and young adults in San Diego, CA, through STEAM-focused job training in the entertainment industry. Our vision is to build a cohort of talented individuals who are ready, qualified, and able to work at multi-levels of the entertainment industry.

Goal: Raise $501,000 unrestricted dollars by January 2027 to support program costs, staff and intern compensation, and operational expenses. Specifically for GIVING TUESDAY, goal is $100,000 unrestricted dollars, retaining 25% as consistent donors.

History

Mandate Project Impact Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization established in 2014 as a nonprofit collaboration with M.A.N.D.AT.E. Records Inc. which has 30-years of experience in developing music artists, providing artist management, music production, major event performance opportunities and bookings. MPI, a STEAM job training program, targets Black and Latino underrepresented youth and young adults 16-24 years, training them on real-world projects for government, corporate, and nonprofit organizations in video, radio, music, and event production; marketing & social media; writing and editing of music and radio programming; graphic design & motion graphics; as well as supporting underserved small businesses, nonprofits, and community members.

Our Impact

MPI provides hands-on job training, targeting Black and Latino underserved youth and young adults (age 16 – 24) in various entertainment industry fields, including radio engineering, TV and film production, music recording, photography, videography, and graphic design. MPI is sought after by community, government, and nonprofit leaders to produce special projects, offering invaluable real-world experience to our interns, to design and produce special video projects and events. MPI provides services to these clients at an extremely reduced cost. 

MPI prioritizes equity by intentionally directing our services toward small businesses and entrepreneurs in underserved and historically marginalized communities across San Diego. Many of these business owners face systemic barriers such as limited access to affordable marketing tools, professional training, and technical resources that are critical for growth and sustainability. Our approach is rooted in partnership and capacity-building. We collaborate with small businesses to provide affordable multimedia production, advertising support, and branding services that help them compete in today’s digital marketplace.
