Through playmaking, The Manton Avenue Project nurtures an expanding sense of possibility by building each child's capacity for personal and academic success.
Our mission is to nurture the unique potential of the young people of Providence's Olneyville, one of the city's lowest income neighborhoods. We do so by unleashing their creative voices and uniting them with professional artists to create original theater.
Our programs are tuition-free for every young playwright. We rely on the support of friends like you!
Here at MAP, we have faced incredibly challenging transitions during unprecedented times, but remain unwavering in our call to supporting the youth of our community. While we patiently build back our full programming (due to federal funding shifts) our families and current 5th grade class have been deeply engaged and keeping our mission moving forward. Together, our 5th graders have decided to focus their winter/spring plays on the theme of FACING OUR FEARS.
This year facing our fear of federal funding loss led to incredible acts of care and generosity. Thank you to YOU, our donors, our board of directors, parents, volunteers, alumni and partner organizations like the Wilbury Theatre and One Neighborhood Builders. You showed up this year in ways we won't soon forget! Because of ALL of your support, MAP is resilient and undeterred in our commitment to our work and artistic practice in our community. Let's continue to ensure that not a single dollar more is cut from MAP, and we continue together to build back every penny lost through advocacy, care, and of course storytelling in the form of theatre.
