Midamerica Service Dogs Foundation Inc

MidAmerica Service Dogs' Foundation provides service dogs to children and adults with mobility disabilities free of charge. We are an Illinois non for profit 501 (c)(3) serving the Chicago metropolitan and suburban areas.

MidAmerica Service Dogs' Foundation has placed over 60 service dog teams since 2009. All of our lives have been touched by the bond between the service dogs and their owners. It is our personal attention and dedication to this program that makes it second to none.

In partnership with the Helping Paws Prison Program in Lincoln, IL, dogs are trained in over 90 commands during an 18 month training program. Upon completion of their training, the dogs work with a foster family to gain experience in everyday activities that they were not exposed to during their tenure at Logan Correctional. Once the dogs are fully acclimated to life outside of training, they are placed with their handler. 

Because of these dogs, our recipients go on to lead a confident, more independent life. Many of our recipients travel, go to school, work, and lead more well-rounded lives.
