Thank you for your support of the animals of Montgomery County!  We are excited to share that through your financial support we have launched a micro-chip program with the Montgomery County Animal Care and Adoption Center!

Every dog adopted out to the community is provided a micro-chip at no cost to the new owner.  We need your support to help continue this program Also, we are proud to provide minimal cost spay/neuter vouchers to residents of Montgomery County that need the financial assistance.

Vision: We envision a community where every adoptable companion animal has a permanent and loving home, and pet owners responsibly spay or neuter their animals to end pet overpopulation.

Mission: MCFACC is dedicated to improving and saving the lives of the homeless animals in Montgomery County, Virginia through the Montgomery County Animal Care and Adoption Center by providing financial support,  dedicated volunteers, community education and outreach.

Help us support the homeless pet population in our community!  YOU are their hero!

MEET RAVEN JADE AND CORALEIGH

THEIR STORY

She has spent over 1,100 days in a shelter over the span of her life. I started working at Montgomery County Animal Care and Adoption in 2022. I was told very little about her just that she had a bite on her record. I was a little cautious with her at first. I learned the system that we have at the facility. They come in, get spayed/neutered and then move to adoption or rescue. Week after week I noticed that she wasn’t moving over to adoption.

So, I was curious about her situation. Since she had a bite on her record and she was a Pitt bull breed they wanted to be double sure that her next home would be lasting. I started to give her treats anytime I saw her. Then one day I met her outside of her kennel and saw how loving she was, I immediately fell in love with her. From then on, I would take her to the play yard, walk her or sit with her any chance I got. At that time, I was living somewhere that didn’t allow dogs. But I knew I wanted to foster her once I moved out. I moved to a new place in August of 2023.

I got myself situated and started fostering Raven in November of 2023. She was amazing, she loved to go on walks and cuddle with me on the couch. She has her little quirks too, like she hates the rain (of course I had to buy her a rain coat), she loves to howl, and she loves her some cheese! I fell head over heels for her and there was no way I would let anyone else adopt her. I decided to adopt her in February of 2024. She brings so much love and energy into my life. The love and bond we have developed is so amazing. I cannot imagine my life without her and I am beyond excited to continue our lives together.
