The Morgan County Humane Society is designated as a (501) (c) (3) IRS non-profit charity established to benefit the rural residents of Morgan County.  We presently own eight acres in eastern Morgan County, Alabama. We are building a NO KILL facility to house adoptable domestic animals and rehabilitated wild animals.  We have a group of volunteers dedicated to fund raising and networking with local groups such as the North Alabama Wildlife Rehabilitators, Morgan County Animal Control Office and Decatur Animal Control Services to provide adoptions and shelter to neglected and abused animals.

Our goal is to establish a shelter serving as a suitable environment for animals both domestic and wild.  Through this goal we strive to:

1)  Prevent the cruelty, neglect, and abuse to both domestic and wild/rescued animals.

2)  Educate the general public about low cost spay/neutering programs to aid in the reduction in the amount of unwanted animals in our county.

3)  Provide a partnership for adoption of animals from our local municipal animal control organizations.

4)  Provide services in compliance with the Alabama Humane Federation for housing, care and adoption of companion animals. neglected and abused animals.
