Every child has incredible potential—but not every child has someone in their corner to ignite it. At Big Brothers Big Sisters of the North Coast, we believe that mentorship is the spark that empowers young people to overcome obstacles, dream big, and build a brighter future.

For many children in our community, life comes with challenges no child should face alone. They may be coping with family instability, economic hardship, or feelings of isolation. But through the power of a consistent, caring, one-to-one relationship with a mentor—a “Big”—these Littles find guidance, encouragement, and the belief that they are capable of achieving anything.

We don’t create potential. We defend it.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the North Coast matches children ages 6-18 with trusted adult mentors who show up, listen, and help them navigate life’s challenges. Our matches are carefully made, professionally supported, and built to last. Research shows that mentored youth are more likely to stay in school, avoid risky behaviors, and develop confidence that carries them into adulthood.
