Rebirth A Non Profit Organization is a community based 501(c)(3) non profit organization that raises awareness and brings opportunities creating stability and independence to underprivileged communities facing negative generational social, economic, and community development barriers. Rebirth recently gained possession of a 30 bed shelter to house homeless women and children experiencing domestic violence. The Organization was founded August 2018, by CEO, Cheetara Heath, a life long mental & physical health trauma, and Domestic Violence survivor and single mother of 5 amazing children. After her misdiagnoses of what was believed to be MS but was found to be the direct and indirect mental and physical effects of abuse, trauma and environmental change. She was encouraged to pursue her passion to help others in a way that will offer true permanent positive progressive change within oneself and the community!
Rebirth’s Mission Statement:
To help individuals and communities gain stability and Independence that face negative generational social, economic, and community development barriers by providing housing supportive services and programs.
Project Description:
In an effort to tackle homelessness and the housing crisis surrounding Detroit women and youth we are requesting funding support to complete renovations and help with operating expenses for our 30 bed shelter to house domestic violence victims! The Rebirth Women's Housing Center will not only provide safe and secure emergency housing but provide vital resources as well! Residents of the The Rebirth Women's Housing Center will have access to food, healthcare & wellness informational workshops and clinics, a clothing closet, showers, childcare, tutoring, life skills training, job placement services, education and job training, legal assistance, transportation services and a small library!
