Additional funding sources included donations, fundraising, and small grants from community partners such as SAARA, DBHDS, Spark Good, and Peoples Bank.We offer a free friendly, non-judgmental welcome to anyone who needs help with addiction recovery and/or mental health support. This free service meets the individual where they are at with understanding and compassion. Find hope while developing skills in a low stress environment with sober peers. Each incoming peer signs an agreement to protect everyone’s privacy and confidentiality while building life skills, self-esteem, personal resiliency, and most importantly, sobriety. We find and share resources with people looking to build a support system to help their recovery journey.  We offer groups, meetings, social events, and one on one peer support sessions.  We do this with peers that have the same or similar experience and have been successful in their own recovery process. As we like to say at Recover Virginia, you’re worth it so drop in!

Recover Virginia’s progress over the past year reflects the continued importance of accessible, peer-driven recovery support within the Alleghany Highlands.  Provider choice is very important in peer support services because it ensures that the individual receiving support can connect with someone they trust and relate to, which strengthens the therapeutic relationship. Through the generosity of The Alleghany Foundation, donations, fundraising, and small grants from community partners such as SAARA, DBHDS, Spark Good, and Peoples Bank we’ve expanded services, deepened community relationships, and built a stronger foundation for future growth. We are deeply grateful for your partnership and support in helping individuals find hope, healing, and connection in recovery. We look forward to continuing this meaningful work in the years to come.
