About Shenandoah County SEARCH, Inc.Founded in 1978 by Preston and Vivian Poole and a group of caring community members, Shenandoah County SEARCH, Inc. (“SEARCH”) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to enriching the lives of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Our Mission
To provide a warm, safe, and nurturing home for adults with intellectual challenges through our Group Home program.
To operate the SEARCH Thrift Shop, which supports both our residents and the broader community—especially low-income families—by offering quality, affordable goods. 100% of shop proceeds go directly toward sustaining our Group Home and enhancing the lives of those we serve.
