53% of elementary aged Black girls see themselves as leaders. However, by the time they reach high school that number has dropped down to 14%.

At Skin I'm In, our mission is to develop the next generation of girls into leaders through active mentorship, engaging programming and interactive leadership development curriculum - ensuring the by the time they reach high school they will be prepared to lead in their schools, communities and beyond. 

Our work at Fulmer Middle School 

Over the last two years, we have been fortunate to mentor girls in partnership with Fulmer Middle School in Lexington County. Through this partnership we meet twice a month with a group of eighth grade girls, covering a variety of topics like goal setting, resilience, confidence and breaking generational curses. 

We've also had the privilege to provide out of the class experiences, touring both the University of South Carolina and Claflin University and attending USC Women's Basketball games.
