SS John & Bernard Parish

SS. John and Bernard Parish began as 2 separate churches. On July 1, 1996, when St. John was 105 years old and St. Bernard was 35 years old, the two Parishes were combined into one by official decree of Bishop Alfred Markiewicz.

Now, St. Bernard’s is 65 years old and is currently in need of repairs or replacements for 2 of the 6 air conditioners that help to keep it cool in the summer months. This past late June and early July, we experienced temperatures as high as 93.9° with heat advisories issued during those times. And that’s not really anything new. We have been experiencing more extreme heat waves here since 2012.

It’s no secret that our church, like many other churches is still feeling the effects from the pandemic. And while things are definitely looking up, we still need a little more help.

That is why we made the decision to participate with the “I Give Catholic” this year with the Diocese of Kalamazoo. Your donation will help us to reach our goal!
