We were founded in 1966, and 60 years later we are still serving our community.

STEP, Inc. is a dynamic 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to breaking down barriers to economic, educational, and personal success in the communities we serve. Our programs work hand-in-hand with individuals and families to overcome challenges and improve their quality of life through community support, empowerment, and growth.

We proudly serve more than 3,500 individuals across Rocky Mount, Virginia, and the surrounding areas through a wide range of services including:

Housing Services - Weatherization and Housing Choice Vouchers
Senior Services - Meals on Wheels, Senior Transportation, Adult Diapers offered through our Diaper Bank, Senior Pet Food Program
Youth Services - LIFES Academy and Project Discovery
Tax Preparation Assistance - Free State and Federal Taxes Filing, Job Site and Interview clothes offered through out Clothes Closet
Early Childhood Education Programs - Head Start, Early Head Start, Baby/Toddler Diapers offered through our Diaper Bank
