Founded in 1936, Temple Beth El is Monterey County's oldest synagogue.  Our goal is to be both a spiritual and social center for our members and guests. Our membership spans the entire spectrum of Jewish thought and tradition. Reform, Conservative, Orthodox, as well as unaffiliated members, add variety to our gatherings. Interfaith couples, Jews-by-choice, and same-sex couples are all welcome at Temple Beth El. Many of our members live in Salinas and throughout the Salinas Valley. We also serve members throughout the surrounding areas, including the Monterey Peninsula, Prunedale, Gilroy, and San Benito County.

Our mission is to be a compassionate and inclusive community that makes Judaism relevant, meaningful and joyful.
