The Center of Wichita Inc

A nonprofit organization

The Center currently houses an LGBTQA library and a safe space for our weekly youth group, Get Connected. Our current focus is securing resources and educational opportunities for Wichita’s LGBTQA youth. We hope to continually expand to make available many more resources for all of our community.

We have recently partnered with other local organizations to form the Sedgwick County LGBT Health Coalition (SedgwickCountyLGBT.org). Coalition partners include the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, the Sedgwick County Health Department, American Cancer Society, Positive Directions, and other local public and private organizations commited to help increase access and awareness for local health services to the LGBT community.

On the first of each month, our Board of Directors holds an open meeting that our community is welcome to attend. Our regular meetings are scheduled for the first Sunday of the month at 1pm.

Each Friday, our youth group, Get Connected, meets at The Center. This group meets from 6pm to 9pm, and is limited to youths aged 13-18. This is a safe place group meeting for fun and activities, and is chaperoned by parents and Center staff. Snacks and food are provided for the event.

All donations to The Center will go toward keeping the Get Connected group running and bringing more programming to Wichita's LGBTQA community as a whole. We have big dreams and would love any support to help us expand resources for the Midwest's LGBTQA people. Thanks for considering us!
