West Sound Youth For Christ

West Sound YFC reaches young people everywhere, working together with like-minded partners to show the love of God to the youth of Kitsap. 

Many of the students we work with are struggling with things like poverty, bullying, addictions, self-harm, depression, abuse, crimes, dropping out, and even homelessness. Some of these young people end up in juvenile detention multiple times each year. 

For many of these young people, hope seems hard to find, but their stories don't have to stay this way. They just need help. 

The problems are BIG, but we believe Jesus can change their story. 

West Sound YFC seeks to make a positive difference in the lives of teens through holistic and relational outreach. 

Every week, our staff members can be found in schools, coffee shops, local hangouts, and at our teen drop-in centers, mentoring and supporting teens while showing the love of Christ in practical ways.  

Our Programs

Trips & Events

Through our trips and events, youth are given the opportunity to step away from the pressures of daily life—away from their burdens and struggles—and enter a space where they can discover purpose, belonging, and hope.

This year, we’re asking for your help to raise funds to send students to Summer Camp. For many of the teens we serve, finances are a significant barrier. Camp is often where they experience community in a new way and, for many, hear the Gospel for the very first time.

Campus Life

West Sound YFC runs three drop-in centers across Kitsap County that serve as safe places for students to meet together. These centers provide an opportunity for relationships with other students, games, tutoring, snacks, and relational ministry with volunteer leaders. 

Our staff also plans and promotes trips such as summer camp as a strategic opportunity to take young people out of their daily environment and provide extended overnight shared experiences for building authentic Christ-sharing relationships with YFC leaders. 

Military Life

Military-connected teens are unique! This lifestyle requires sacrifice, and military-connected youth proudly join in their family's tradition of sacrificing for the good of strangers. Something powerful happens when these amazing young people feel heard and seen and believe they belong. 

Frequent moves and living life in the absence of a deployed parent is tough; as a result, military-connected youth often feel overlooked. 

Our Military Life program works with local military installations, chaplains, schools, and churches to provide military-connected youth with a safe and consistent community with their peers; we hope to give them a place where they feel they can belong.
